This weekend marks the 60th  anniversary of  Queen Elizabeth’s ascension to the throne. In honor of her Diamond Jubilee, events and festivities are taking place all over the world, including the Cayman Islands, to celebrate our heritage.

To mark this milestone in history, Cayman 27 recently aired a Royal-themed episode to which I was the featured guest. I was asked to showcase ideas on how to throw your very own Royal affair.

Here’s a few of the decor ideas I came up with:

For the modern interpretation of the Royal theme, I have incorporated red, blue and white in the decor. This could be with either linens and flowers.

I have also used the Diamond Jubilee logo which we pulled from the official site to wrap around a clear glass vase to give the arrangement a unique and custom look. The said logo was designed by a 10 year old  from the UK.  Red tablecloth and blue runners tie the modern concept together.

The second look was a traditional and formal setting with gold accents and a one-of-a-kind floral centerpiece.

Red preserved roses sit in a crown, with a large diamond fit for the Queen.

I would highly recommend that you use  antique china passed down from your family to decorate the table, with a fresh floral arrangement to complete the look. Incorporating gold and silver pieces is an easy way to make any setting feel more formal, and your guests will certainly feel like Royalty!
