Earlier this month, Celebrations worked with a corporate incentive group to create a stunning Starry Night inspired event. “The inspiration for this event was to create an enchanting yet casual beach setting for a night under the stars,” said planner Cassie South. “We created a fusion of styled reception seating from lounge pieces, tall cocktails with ghost stools, low cocktails with gold chivari and a mixture of round and square tables all with rotating linens in colours of black, shimmering gold sequin and an opulent navy pintuck.”
Cassie used this Van Gogh quote as inspiration: “I know nothing with any certainty. But the sight of the stars makes me dream.”
With such a beautiful natural backdrop like Seven Mile Beach at the Westin Grand Cayman, Cassie used a black and gold colour palette with a focus on lighting. Knowing the shimmering fabrics would reflect the setting sun, and later the string lights and lanterns, the mix of elements create the perfect setting that seemed to glow even before the sun set.
“The floral brought in the perfect pops of yellow with twisted Calla Lilies for a contemporary feel. Other centrepieces created with yellow Button Mums were made to resemble shooting stars. Fun elements – like our custom CAYMAN light up sign & beachside cabanas – created a more laid back beach vibe with the overhead lighting being the perfect finishing touch.”
