Celebrations joins ScotiaBank in raising funds during the caring for life foundation golf tournament this past Friday. 18 holes and 18 sponsored tents, each set up with one goal in mind: raising money for a great cause, the Caring For Life Foundation. We were asked by ScotiaBank to come up with a concept for our tent that would entice the 27 teams of golf players from the various companies on island to pay and play/drink/eat for the cause. Some tents offered bbqs and others offered games… we were all there for a day under the sun to give back to our community.
Here at Celebrations, we gathered our girls all dressed in black with formal bow times, packed up our tents and other rental items, our bose speaker and kickin playlist and hit the green to set up our mobile bar & cigar lounge. That’s right! A mobile bar & cigar lounge! Our talented set designer, Frances, put her mind to work and pulled together a set up that combined two environments: a lounge & the golf course.
Our friends at Havana Club donated cigars and allowed us to borrow their talented Cuban cigar-roller, Jesus, for the tent while our friends at Tortuga donated miniature bottles of the Cayman Islands rum to give away.
As a result, we’re so happy to announce that our tent raised the MOST funds for the cause out of all other tent sponsors. It’s all for the same great cause, of course!
We’ve shared some photos below from the event including detail shots of our personalized cigar rings and don’t forget to pay special attention to the gorgeous floral centerpiece created by our floral department… you’ll notice it’s sprouting from an old cigar box!
