In case you haven’t noticed, we LOVE destination weddings! And we also love a great story. Here’s a classic example of great love stories culminating to a stunningly beautiful destination wedding in the Cayman Islands!
Abigail and Kyle met through mutual friends. Here’s Abigail’s narration of how they met:
“Our love story began when my girlfriend and her fiance at the time, invited me to go on the lake with one of their single guy friends, I love the water so I happily joined for the day. Kyle asked me out on our first date about 2 weeks later. We enjoyed getting to know each other so much, I believe we went out for the next month straight. We fell in love so effortlessly. Kyle surprised me with his confidence, humor, and laid back attitude. He is also driven and knows what he wants which I absolutely love. We both enjoy leisure time, good music, local cuisine, and traveling.”
From then on, their romance blossomed beautifully. A year after their first date, Kyle proposed.
Abigail: “I was picking him up to go see an FC Dallas soccer game. When I opened the door to his place I was amazed to see an entire room filled with balloons and a candle lit path leading to Kyle who was down on one knee. It was so intimate and magical.”
Huge points to Kyle for planning and executing such a sweet proposal!
When asked why they chose the Cayman Islands as the destination for their wedding, Abigail enthusiastically shared their reasoning:
“Kyle’s family has vacationed in Grand Cayman for the past 10 years. When Kyle and I joined them for their annual trip, we had just gotten engaged. I have always dreamed of a beach wedding and upon arriving at the pristine coastline of 7 Mile Beach, I instantly fell in love with the location. We spent much of our time on that trip scoping out venues and meeting with Planners, mostly because it rained every day we were there. Looking back, I am thankful for the rain because it gave us plenty of time to make some decisions. Everything soon fell into place easily and perfectly, much like our romance.”
After deciding on their venue, Abigail and Kyle relegated the planning of their destination wedding to Celebrations. They felt at ease with the knowledge that the islands’ leading experts in weddings and events were at their service to execute the wedding of their dreams.
Jim Gates of Blue Dot Studios beautifully photographed the ocean-side nuptials, capturing every special moment for the couple.
Looking back, we asked Abigal and Kyle about their experience with Celebrations and their destination wedding in Cayman.
“We had a full year to get everything planned, which I was thankful for because I was totally unsure of what goes into planning a wedding. Through countless emails and a few phone calls, my Celebrations coordinator, Andrea, was able to work with me to plan a beautiful wedding that was within my budget. She was most helpful in suggesting vendors for music, hair/make-up and photography, all of which I was very happy with. I especially liked Rev. Myers, our Officiant. He far exceeded my expectations and delivered a beautiful ceremony speech.” – Abigail
What were your top 3 most important factors to ensure a memorable wedding?
Abigail & Kyle : ” Our top three most important factors were music, because what’s a wedding without a good party to celebrate it; decorations, because I am very visual and enjoy spectacular decor; and finally photography, because of course, I wanted every moment captured for the beauty that it was. I just really wanted everyone to enjoy themselves to the fullest”.
Any special moments during your wedding that you would like to share with us?
Abigail & Kyle: “There were so many special moments it is hard to pick just one! The time spent getting ready with my dearest girlfriends was perfection. There was also a moment at the end of the reception where everyone was jumping up and down on the dance floor. The energy and love were unlike anything I have felt before and I will cherish that moment in time forever.”
To Abigail and Kyle, congratulations once again! Thank you for sharing your beautiful story with us!
